Ready to buy or sell a condo?

There are some significant differences between condo property transactions and the buying or selling of a house.  For example, prior to purchasing a previously owned condo, you need to review the condominium bylaws or have that task done by a real estate lawyer like David van Leenen, who has the experience that comes with having acted for both buyers and sellers of condominiums.   Other issues include special assessments and reserve fund studies.

"You need to know about registrations on title and whether a real property report should form part of your sale documents," explains David van Leenen, Managing Partner. "There are always issues and it is the job of your real estate lawyer to identify those issues before you sign anything."

If you are buying a new condominium, there could be issues that are unique to the builder as well as a variety of common issues, common issues ranging from property holdbacks to tenancy costs prior to plan registration.
